Nowadays diets are all the rage. There are so many methods of dieting that have come out, and have claimed to be the most effective way to lose weight.
But the problem with this is that most of these diets are just fads, and end up hurting individuals rather than helping them lose weight! Some diets tend to rob too much nutrients from a person’s dietary plan by cutting too much calories off of their meals!
It is important to remember that every person is different, and has his/her own dietary needs. This is why it is vital to find the special diet that works for you!
Here’s a list of the different types of special diets that have become popular:
Diet Shakes- Basically this is a meal substitute that comes in fluid form. Instead of eating, those who want to lose weight drink diet shakes in place of a meal. The problem with diet shakes is that some dieters are not satisfied with just having a diet shake for their meal. They constantly have to battle food craving.
Diet meals that are prepackaged- These are low fat meals that have been prepackaged and follow a strict calorie count. Portions of these meals are also moderated. The great thing about this dietary plan is that meals are healthy and nutritious. Plus, they are convenient since it has already been prepared. But the downside to this type of diet is that it tends to be very expensive. Especially if individuals plan to stay to this type of eating plan for long periods of time.
Low carb diet- This is a special type of dietary plan that restricts a person’s intake of carbohydrates. Dieters have to undergo phases in which they have to avoid specific foods, such as those that are high in carbohydrates like breads, pastries, cakes and pies.
Medical experts have stated that carbohydrates have a tendency to stimulate
a person appetite. During various phases in this diet, dieters are only allowed to eat certain foods that come from different types of food group. Serving portions are also moderated

Those who undergo this type of dietary program are also educated about nutritional values of foods. They are also given a list of all the foods that they can incorporate into their diet. Low carb diet requires individuals to change their eating plan. In order for this to work individuals have to be extremely dedicated in sticking to their dietary meal plans.
There are a number of books that have been written about the merits of a low carb diet. There are also hundreds and hundreds of low carb recipes that are online. So for those who want to know more about this diet, or just want ideas for their next meal, they can do some research on the net to acquire more information about this special type of diet.

Do Diets With Ready Made Foods Like Medifast Really Work?
There’s no question that prepackaged diets are popular because of their convenience and ease of use. For people who don’t like having to count calories, or plan and prepare their own meals, prepackaged diets seem like a much easier option. You basically just chose which foods you might enjoy and that’s all the heavy lifting you really have to do. But do these type of diets work? Are they effective? Because what good is an easy diet when if it doesn’t help you to lose weight? In the following article, I’ll look some clinical studies that might shed some light on whether prepackaged diets work and are effective.
Some Medifast Studies Which Gage This Ready Made Diet’s Effectiveness: Medifast is one of the more popular and well known prepackaged diets. There have been a few studies that have looked at the effectiveness of this diet. Probably the most well known studies were conducted by researchers at John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
One study looked at dieters with diabetes on Medifast versus those on the American Diabetes Association diet. The folks on the prepackaged diet lost twice as much weight than the those on the ADA diet and stuck with their diet plan for twice as long.
Another study at John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health followed both men and women who used Medifast for about four months. The men lost on average of 67 pounds and women lost an average of 47 pounds over 16 weeks. Both studies would appear to show that the program was affective for many of the folks participating in the clinical studies.
Are Ready Made Diets Like Medifast Effective In Real Life?: Clinical studies are one thing, real life is another. I’ve had readers tell me that the folks in the clinical studies knew that their progress was being tracked so it’s possible that they were being extra diligent. I suppose this is possible. But, you can also look at the experiences and results of regular people on the diet whose results weren’t being watched or tracked.
I’ve been very happy with my results and I know plenty of people who feel the same way. That’s not to say that every week has been easy or that the weight loss was constant. There were down days and weeks. And it’s my experience that you have to mostly follow along and stick to the plan, at least for the most part. But overall, many of us have believe the these type of diets work better for us than past diets that have required more work.
Every one has different preferences and personalities. Some people like planning and food preparation. I don’t. I don’t have the time for it and I don’t enjoy it. So, this prepackaged plan has been a good fit for me. Which leads me to my next point. I believe that a diet’s effectiveness is going to partly depend on how good the diet you chose fits with your personal preferences and life style. Only you can decide if a prepackaged diet will be a good fit for you.
Lindsey’s Medifast Review Website features recipes, a list of all of the foods (including the shakes,) videos, tips, coupons ( off or two weeks free), information and products related to success on this diet. She also offers a free ebook (“Getting The Most Out Of Medifast”) to help you get started. You can visit her at http://easiest-diet.com/

Weight Loss Diet Plans ? Do They Really Work?
Low-carbohydrate diets: The carbohydrate content of the diet is an important determinant of short-term (less than two weeks) weight loss. Low (60 to 130 grams of carbohydrates) and very low-carbohydrate diets (zero to 60 grams) have been popular for many years. [2] Rapid weight loss occurs, primarily due to glycogen breakdown and fluid loss rather than fat loss.
Low and very low-carbohydrate diets are more effective for short-term weight loss than low-fat diets, although probably not for long-term weight loss. If a low-carbohydrate diet is chosen, healthy choices for fat (mono and polyunsaturated fats) and protein (fish, nuts, legumes, and poultry) should be encouraged because of the association between saturated fat intake and risk of coronary heart disease.
Very low-calorie diets: Diets with energy levels between 200 and 800 kcal/day are called “very low-calorie diets,” while those below 200 kcal/day can be termed starvation diets. The basis for these diets was the notion that the lower the calorie intake the more rapid the weight loss, because the energy withdrawn from body fat stores is a function of the energy deficit. Starvation is the ultimate very low calorie diet and results in the most rapid weight loss. Although once popular, starvation diets are now rarely used for treatment of obesity.
High protein diets: Some popular books recommend high protein diets. The effectiveness over long term has not established yet.
Mediterranean diet: The term Mediterranean diet refers to a dietary pattern that is common in olive-growing areas of the Mediterranean area. Although there is some variation in Mediterranean diets, there are some common components that include a high level of monounsaturated fat relative to saturated, moderate consumption of alcohol, mainly as wine, a high consumption of vegetables, fruits, legumes, and grains, a moderate consumption of milk and dairy products, mostly in the form of cheese, and a relatively low intake of meat and meat products.
Thus, any diet that is adhered to will produce modest weight loss, but adherence rates are low with most diets. Although a low-carbohydrate diet may be associated with greater short-term weight loss, superior weight loss in the long-term has not been established. The optimal mix of macronutrients likely depends upon individual factors. A principal determinant of weight loss appears to be the degree of adherence to the diet, irrespective of the particular macronutrient composition. Behavioral modification to improve dietary compliance with any type of diet may have the greatest impact on long-term weight loss.

The Miracle Cabbage Soup Diet and Why It May Not Work For You
For individuals such as myself who look hopefully at every new diet plan that appears in the popular media, diets that contain the word “miracle” are a sign for renewed hope. Unfortunately, the Miracle Cabbage Soup Diet is not likely to be a diet that will be successful when there is a lot of weight to be lost. This is another of the fad diets that typically cause a quick loss of a few pounds followed by a weight gain that wipes out the loss and adds a few pounds as well.
There are several reasons why this is not a high ranking long term diet for most people. The weight that is lost is typically water weight. Any diet is likely to give you rapid initial weight loss because of water loss. The cabbage soup diet is no exception.
The diet is boring. The ingredients include cabbage, green onions, green peppers, tomatoes, celery, dry onion soup mix, bouillon and seasonings to taste. Some versions add spice to improve palatability, but following this diet for a full seven days is difficult to do. There is all the soup you want to eat, but most days have little else in the way of food to look forward to.
The Cabbage Soup Diet has been linked to several different well-known individuals and institutions, but probably has little honest relationship with any of them. Because the diet is inherently unhealthy, the true nutritionists won’t recommend the diet. It has no protein component, which is something that is needed by all individuals for body health.
The diet is responsible for flatulence in most people who try to follow it. This element can be enough to stop most individuals from trying the diet at all. The brave souls who attempt to follow it consistently may give up in disgust after a day or two of eating cabbage soup. The diet is a fad, pure and simple and little real value beyond a quick weight drop in a few days due to water loss.
Instead of using this diet, why not try a more balanced approach to losing weight. There are several weight loss websites on the Internet that offer reviews of various diet plans. These recommended plans are more likely to include a more balanced approach to eating. If certain groups of foods are eliminated from the diet, it is temporary and at least on the surface, the healthy foods are gradually added back to the food choices after the weight loss goals are achieved.
Does Drastically Reducing Carbs Really Work?
Several well-constructed diets today recommend eliminating or drastically reducing carbohydrate intake to lose weight. Particular emphasis is placed on refined carbohydrates. Most diets recommend elimination of refined sugars and desserts from food intake anyway, so this is a step that is consistent across diet plans. Many healthy diets recommend adding more fiber to the diet. This action promotes good elimination and healthy cardiovascular systems.
The recommendation is to avoid wasting your time on the Miracle Cabbage Soup Diet. It’s not likely to result in more than a few lost pounds. The diet is inherently unhealthy and difficult to follow for more than a day or two.
The Hunt for Diets That Work
Let’s face it, most of us who care about how we look have considered dieting more than once, and some of you might have tried all sorts of diets, but might not have gotten the results you expected. Dieting is as much about looking good as it is about, or even more, to stay fit; so we need to find a diet that cuts off the excessive calories and keeps you nourished and energized at the same time, and so begins the hunt for diets that work.
Having over 60 percent of its citizens who are or above 20 years of age suffering from being overweight, the United States has its own sub culture attached to dieting. With the media that are constantly flooded with people who don’t even seem to have an ounce of fat on them and TV shows such as ‘The Biggest Loser’, people are driven to find diets that work for them. The American citizen spends roughly around 48 billion dollars an year on dieting trying to find diets that work; and most end up in failure, with the guilt of being overweight still remaining.
If one is to ask the reason for the failure in finding diets that work, the answer would be depending on several variables. However the number one factor in most of the cases is that people don’t always stick to their diet, they drift off track and eat that juicy steak or cheeseburger that is practically oozing with calories. Another reason for not being able to find diets that work is the life style we are engaged in; it is virtually impossible to lose weight just by dieting, therefore we need to find a diet that is in par with the amount of exercise we can do and the amount of calories we burn on an average day. And the other most common scenario that happens to people who are going after diets is that those diets aren’t practically applicable to them, and therefore after a few weeks they abandon the diet half way through, leaving the hunt for diets that work still open for them.
When you are looking for diets that work, keep in mind that there is a huge market with relation to dieting, with various diets popping up every day. Be very careful not get lured into those diets that seem too good to be true, and always think whether this particular diet would work for you with the time, money and will power you have; and you will be able to find diets that work for you.

Review of The Diet Solution: How it can Work for You
The Diet Solution Program may be one of the best dieting solutions out there. This program does not require you to purchase only the foods they tell you to eat to lose weight or eat fewer meals a day to lose weight. Instead, it encourages you to eat more of certain foods for you to lose weight.
Isabel de Los Rios is the maker of the Diet Solution and in case you are thinking that she does not know what your going through when your trying to lose weight you are dead wrong. She was an overweight daughter and granddaughter of type 2 diabetics. She was told that she would in fact suffer the same fate. This led her to search for diet programs and consult professionals that knew proper dieting techniques. This led to the creation of her diet solution program. She is also a fully qualified nutritionist.
With the diet solution you know the exact foods that cause accelerated fat burning to help you lose weight. It also talks about the foods that suppress your metabolism and cause you to gain weight. The program focuses around decreasing blood sugar levels, lowering cholesterol, eliminating digestive problems, increasing energy and improving skin conditions.
The Diet Solution provides you with plenty of articles that can help you to get healthy which include:
* Fat Loss
* Motivation
* Fat Burning Foods
* Workouts
* Lifestyle
* Health Concerns
* Supplements
There are free recipes to go along with your weight loss or diet program like drinks and side dishes. Some are extremely easy to make only requiring the simplest of ingredients to get a hold of.
There is no restriction when it comes to this diet program. What I mean by this is that the diet solution can help those that suffer from diabetes as well as those that do not. This program is geared towards working for everyone, even those that have not had success at losing weight before. This program is centered around developing a healthier lifestyle for yourself. It is a practical weight loss program. This program will not make false assertions about you losing 10 pounds in a matter of weeks. What it will guarantee though, that if you stick with this program although you may not see results within the first week, you will eventually lose pounds if you stick with it.
The Diet Solution is not for those that get easily discouraged and expect instant satisfaction from a product they purchased. And for those of you that believe that exercise alone or dieting alone will lead to you losing the weight you desire, then you need to get that silly notion out of your head. The DSP encourages you to exercise while you are on this diet program. In fact, I would go as far as to say that this program forces you to exercise when on this diet. Only when you combine proper dieting along side exercise can you expect to achieve permanent results.
The Diet Solution utilizes exercise with dieting to achieve PERMANENT RESULTS! I realize I am being repetitive, but this point needs to be stressed. As I said before you have to be patient with this program because permanent results take time. You may not see the results your are expecting right away, actually I will put money on it that you will not. But, you are getting something much more valuable. You are getting an asset. This is an asset towards better health for the rest of your life if you decide to take this program seriously. Yes diets can be rough, but it is even harder if you defeat yourself before you even try it out. Just take a look at The Diet Solution, it is different from the typical run of the mill diet programs and you probably will get more then you expected from it. However, if you do not have the patience to wait to lose weight and you need results fast then this program probably is not for you and I encourage you to search for something else.
Every Other Day Diet That Work Plan Scam Review
The Every Other Day Diet is a unique weight loss plan which was created by Jon Benson with the help of Holly Rigsby. What’s special about these 2 people is that they were both severely overweight in the past, managed to lose more than 50 pounds each, and turned into 2 of the most respected diet and fitness experts in the world today.
Essentially, the Every Other Day Diet is trying to mimic the basic nutritional structure our bodies have been constituted for. Remember that civilization – and the ability to eat multiple, high calorie meals – is a relatively recent phenomenon in human history. Even a thousand years back, getting three meals a day was a rare occurrence. Consequently, our bodies have not been able to adapt to the surfeit of food that we supply it with today. Hence, we gain fat and attract a host of ailments. In contrast, prehistoric man had none of the illnesses we suffer from today. He was also much stronger and fitter, courtesy of the diet he ate.
By keeping your body in a state of “calorie confusion”, you can avoid the plateau effect that most diets have (i.e., you stop seeing any gains through dieting after a point of time). Moreover, by letting you eat your favorite foods every other day, dieting becomes much more enjoyable. Rather than stuffing yourself with monotonous salads, thin slices of bread and fruit servings, you can eat delicious pasta, pizzas, and hamburgers while still losing weight. Consequently, you will be much more motivated to follow the diet to the very end.
Every other day dieting is quite simple. If you can maintain a diet for just one day, than you could stick with this plan for a lifetime. You simply go on a diet every other day, effectively reducing your overall calorie count by quite a bit. Every other day dieting will allow you to continue eating your comfort foods, help you fit in at social occasions while dieting, and eliminate your chubby belly fat or any fat for that matter from your body. All with every other day dieting
The every other day diet is basically a product of personal experiences and realizations of Jon Benson. He was obese once with 36% body fat and now he is ultra-fit with just 6.5% body fat… amazing… isn’t it? All this became possible with this easy to follow every other day diet program. Millions of people across the world are also following Jon’s diet for health program, and most of them have derived great benefits in terms of consistent weight loss. This diet for health program enhances body’s metabolism process and fat is burned with the continuously changing cycle of calorie consumption.

Diets That Work – 3 Popular Weight Loss Programs
Dieting is almost always associated with food restriction and craving. It entails a lot of self-control, calorie-counting and hunger, so many on a diet cheat at the very least or simply give up on it altogether.
However, there are diets that have been proven to carry out their promise of weight loss. We will outline three of the more proven ones here, although there are countless others as well.
1. South Beach Diet
Originally designed by Dr. Arthur Agatston, a cardiologist, for his patients, the South Beach Diet has continued to grow in popularity. While some have labeled it as one of the many “fad” diets, its principle of consuming good fats, nutrients and protein have made it one of the more sought after and successful diets today.
The South Beach Diet is divided into three phases. The first two weeks limits your carbohydrate as well as fruit and vegetable intake to “clear your palate.” This results in less cravings for junk food and sweets. If you can successfully hurdle the first phase, you’re ready to move to Phase II which allows you to add back those foods that were restricted from Phase I. You can consume these foods in moderation. Phase III is the maintenance portion of the diet that’s meant to be followed for life. It’s the least restrictive of all the phases.
South Beach works because with the exception of Part I, it’s not a severely restrictive diet for the most part and is relatively easy to follow. Moreover, the weight loss generated from adhering to this diet is reasonable and within healthy limits.
2. Glycemic Impact Diet
The rationale behind the Glycemic Impact Diet or GI Diet is that you can classify foods based on their Glycemic Index values. (The Glycemic Index is a ranking of the foods based on their effect on blood sugar levels.) Foods that have low Glycemic Index values slowly release sugar into the blood while those with high values do the opposite, causing a sudden rise in blood sugar levels. The GI Diet also takes into account Glycemic Load, or the amount of carbohydrates a certain food has.
In a GI Diet, foods with high Glycemic Index values but with low Glycemic Load are best. By limiting simple sugars and increasing fiber, a GI Diet facilitates stable blood sugar levels which aid in avoiding hunger while still giving you energy. A GI Diet Meal Plan consists of 40% calories from refined, complex carbohydrates; 30% from lean protein and 30% from healthy fats.
3. The Macrobiotic Diet
Based on the Far Eastern philosophy of the “Great Life,” the Macrobiotic Diet is for those who want to follow a lifestyle more than a simple diet program for weight loss. It is a highly natural diet that does not allow processed foods or microwaving as a form of food preparation. It also entails that the food be eaten in a laid-back environment and chewed in a relaxed manner as well. Aside from the fact that it allows one to lose weight, the Macrobiotic Diet also aids in the healing of certain diseases like cancer and heart disease.
Essentially, this diet is composed of 50% whole grains, 25% vegetables in season, 10% protein, 5% sea vegetables, 5% soups and 5% fruits, nuts or seeds.
If you’re serious about healthy eating, make sure that you have a look at a Vitamix blender, there are tons of tasty Vita Mix recipes that are very healthy.
